Hooray for that! If ever there were good news, that sounds like some good news. I have to apologize to all of your for the lack of new content on this site. Putting this site together and providing you with videos is one of the things in my life that I’m most proud of and received the most fulfillment from.The problem that I ran into is that I stopped playing board games for awhile. My hobbies have a tendency to ebb and flow and I was ebbing off board games for a long time. I really love podcasting. Down to my core, it’s one of my favorite things. In fact, my hope is that I can make a run of video podcasting to such a degree that it might even become my full time job one day.Sadly, I just don’t have it in me to podcast several times a week on board games. That level of activity is what it would take in order to get to the level of success that I have in mind. I need some content that can draw a large audience and where I won’t get tired of doing several episodes a week. The good news is that I have two new shows in mind where the focus will be more on comedy and less on reviewing board games. I’m very excited to share them with all of you and I expect them to launch sometime in June.In the meantime, I have been blogging on another site in preparation for my two new shows. I’d love to hear your feedback on what I have so far over there.The fans of my gamer podcasts have been nothing but awesome to me. I really love the emails and all the support here in the comments. Thank you all for being so supportive. It has meant a lot. My hope is that your enthusiasm for these shows will translate into you giving my new shows a chance. That would mean the world to me.That being said, I’m not saying that I’m done with any of these podcasts. If the new shows take off, I can absolutely see doing board game reviews or other gamer related content as an occasional show as well. We are certainly not. I have decided to share a bit about what's been going on for me. When I'm not attempting to be funny and informative in podcasts, I have a day job selling business software. My primary customers are Wholesale Distributors who sell things like HVAC, plumbing, electrical, paint, construction materials, etc. All of these companies are tied to the commercial and residential construction market. Many of my customers and prospects are having a very bad time in the current economic environment. That makes my job much more stressful. Being a sales guy during a recession is not my idea of a good time. Life is fine. Everything is okay. But, for about 6 months I have had to put everything on hold and focus on work. That being said, things are turning around and I should be able to spend more time on the site. I'll see if Michelle wants to do a podcast this weekend to get us back running. I hope everyone else is well, still employed, and still in their homes. I wanted to let you all know that we haven't forgotten about you. For what seems like forever, I have been dealing with a stomach bug. In order to do the podcasts in a way that I feel good about, I need to be amped up going into them and that level of energy has not been possible. I'm feeling better now, and we should be back on the ball this week. I have been wanting to get back to one a week, and we'll see if that happens. I'm playing games a lot more often now, so that should support it well. Oh, and we are still playing lots of World of Warcraft at my house, so if you want people to play with, let your Obsessed With Gaming friends know.... afterall, the expansion will be out soon and it will be glorious. If you like WOW, and haven't seen what last weeks patch has done to the game, you are doing a deservice to yourself. It fundementally changed the game, and I think for the better.
